Organizational Communication
“Organizational communication is the process by which language and social interaction promote coordinated action toward a common goal” (Littlejohn & Foss 2009). I have included a variety of communication products to illustrate that organizations can use multiple strategies to achieve similar results.
Digital Responsibility Statement
This product is a Digital Responsibility Statement for the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Police Department. The purpose of this statement is to guide new hires in their digital communication practices, making an argument as to why digital responsibility is important to your organization. This statement is a guide providing insight to the organizations ethical principles and practices as it relates to IMC.

Communication Audit of the University Police Department

I also conducted an audit of the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Police Department communication practices. Since I am a member, I have access to tools and resources needed to analyze their communication over a period of time. The ultimate goal of this audit was to analyze their artifacts, determine the effectiveness of their current communication efforts, and provide recommendations to improve areas of weakness.
White Paper
The purpose of this white paper was to identify and describe a current or anticipated problem in crisis or risk communication practice and identify the best solutions for the challenge. The challenge that I chose to discuss the issue of providing important information and updates during an active attacker incident. I also focused on using social media as a resource. The intended audience for the White Paper is crisis communication and emergency management teams.
